So before you put your home up for sale, you may want to consider renovating the bathroom first. Use the following tips to make sure your master bathroom leaves a lasting impression on potential home buyers.

1- Invest in classic fixtures

If you have a pink tub or gold antique faucets, you may want to opt for a more classic look and invest in fixtures that are white and chrome instead.

Bathroom fixtures don’t come cheap, so your best bet is to invest in pieces that are timeless and that potential buyers would look at and fall in love with.

2- Install two sinks

Nowadays, it seems that women and men like to have that what’s mine is mine in then master bathroom so two sinks are always a big winner. Should you get vessel sinks or recessed basins?

Well, essentially, it is up to you, but you need to consider that vessel sinks require a different counter height. Conventional recessed-bowl sinks sit at counter height, usually 32 to 36 inches above the floor, but if the sink is going to sit on the counter, the counter height needs to be lower.

Either way, add to all that a clean granite or quartz counter top and you have a sold home on your hands. Or, is it off your hands?

3- Get a great plumber

When it comes to the waterworks of your home, you do not want to cheap out or worse yet, do it yourself. There is a time and a place to cut corners, and your home’s plumbing is not it.

4- Make a great shower

The rainfall shower head is quite popular, as it not only looks beautiful in the shower, it also reduces water usage, which is a good thing to mention to potential home buyers. You can also opt to add shower jets and a shower massager, the latter of which makes cleaning a snap.

Also consider the tile you are going to use. Earth colors are your friend, so make sure to go with a colour that speaks to the masses. You can add a touch of boldness with your towels or plant holders.

5- Install heated flooring

For those of us who live in climates that would make a penguin cry, heated flooring is a big sell. Not only does it sound incredibly fantastic, it’s also one of those things that buyers think is a fantastic addition to a bathroom.

6- Create storage space

Every bathroom, and I mean every bathroom, needs to have storage space. The objective of every bathroom should not be to have every cosmetic item you own sitting on the counter top. In fact, the counter top should contain nothing more than your toothbrush, toothpaste and soap.

Install a vanity with drawers, cupboards and create a floating cube that doubles as a medicine cabinet.

Renovating your bathroom for maximum ROI

If you have the time and energy to do so, renovating your master bathroom is a good way to go because you will see the returns when you sell your home.
